The
Natural Beginnings Difference
Our Birth Doula Training Workshops have offered the new DONA requirement
for a 3 hour Lactation Management class since 2002.
Though this class is not part of 'DONA International's' Doula Training Workshop,
this course is sometimes offered in conjunction with
Doula Training Workshops
to more effectively use your continuing education and travel time, while helping
you to complete your Doula Certification Requirements.
We now offer a 2nd Lactation Course on Breastfeeding Interventions to
round out breastfeeding education as desired by doulas gaining experience.
No need to search for a Lactation Course – it’s right here at Natural Beginnings.
|
Birth Doula Workshops are available in many places, at many prices and are taught
by a variety of educators. At Natural Beginnings, we want to help you select the
Birth Doula Workshop that best fits your needs.
HERE ARE SOME KEY COMPONENTS WE OFFER:
- Our Workshops are approved by DONA INTERNATIONAL
(Doulas of North America).
- We have offered DONA-Approved Birth Doula Workshops since 1996
at locations throughout the southwest, including TX, OK, and CO.
- Our Educator is a certified doula in private practice with over 20 years
experience as a practicing doula. She understands the challenges of self employment, starting your own business and balancing career & family.
- We teach a 2 ½ day seminar to provide more "hands on" time and
opportunities to answer your questions and to meet your individual needs.
- All business forms needed to start your practice are included and "clean
copies" are placed on a separate e-group for participants to download,
modify and use, so there's no additional cost for business forms.
- We provide a session in the workshop on how to set up your business,
market and network.
- We limit the number of participants for each seminar. Small groups provide
the best learning environment to meet your individual needs.
- Our Dallas seminars are generally taught in the educator's home to provide
a warm and comfortable learning experience.
- When you complete the workshop, your name and contact information is
listed on our website at no additional cost. www.naturalbeginningsonline.com/do_finding.html
- We refer mothers that call looking for a doula to our newly prepared doulas
first to help you establish your business.
- We create an e-group for each session of participants so you can continue
to receive mentoring from your trainer as well as keeping in touch with friends
you make at the workshop.
- We offer (at a modest additional fee) a comprehensive class in establishing Lactation specifically created for doulas the afternoon following the Birth
Doula Workshop. This class meets criteria for DONA Birth Doula Certification
as well as 3.6 L-CERPS, recognized by IBLCE, DONA and other International organizations for continuing education.
